Following the most recent Apple Music launch for users in Turkey last week, the subscription music streaming service and accompanying Beats 1 radio station have now officially launched in Taiwan.
Apple Music is available now for users in Taiwan that want to subscribe and comes with the usual three month free trial before monthly pricing kicks in at NT $150 (around $4.50 USD), or NT $240 for a family plan. And Beats 1 is also launching alongside Apple Music in the region (which isn’t always the case) and like other markets is available free to listen for all with or without a subscription. The Taiwan version of Apple Music and radio features, like other local markets, will include curated content from local artists that you wouldn’t normally see much on the service outside of the area.
Apple quietly launched the Apple Music service for users in Turkey last week, but it wasn’t until over the weekend following our report that the service went live in Taiwan. Apple also updated its official list of availability by country to reflect the changes.
In total, Apple now lists 113 countries and regions (below) that support Apple Music and Beats 1 including a ton of markets— like Russia, India, China, Japan, & more— where some of its top competitors, like Spotify, are not available. But Spotify, currently in 97 territories, is also in a few locations Apple Music has yet to launch, although Apple is quickly closing that gap as the most recent additions, including Turkey and Taiwan, were regions Spotify was already available and leading.
And while a few of the markets Apple Music is live don’t support Beats 1 radio — Jordan, Hungary, and Bahrain to be exact — otherwise the full streaming service and subscription model is available in all the regions listed below.
