We’ve seen Apple Watch catch on with a handful of insurance providers so far. Now, CNBC reports that Devoted Health has become the first health insurer with private Medicare plans to offer a discounted Apple Watch as a benefit. Devoted Health is a start-up health insurer that says it wants to stand out among Medicare Advantage plans with a focus on “world class technology.” Back in January, a report said that Apple had started working with Medicare plan providers to subsidize the cost of Apple Watch hardware, and this deal with Devoted Health is seemingly the first to come to fruition....

Apple has updated their Apple Store app to version 2.0 featuring EasyPay and Personal Pickup. As we’ve already outlined, EasyPay allows customers to purchase cheaper accessories in the Apple Store through the app, rather than having to deal with an Apple sales rep. Store workers we’ve contacted have called this “EasyTheft” because of the perceived ease in which someone could walk out of a store with an item without paying....

Apple has updated its diversity report with new data about gender, race, and ethnicity hiring at the company. The updated diversity report comes one day after Apple committed to sponsoring a minority-focused technology program and one year after releasing its first report on such data. While the new data does not show dramatic diversity improvements compared with last year’s report, Apple does highlight some key changes in hiring over the last 12 months....

Big Fish Games was reported last night to be the first to make available a game that offered a subscription model inside, a feature that was originally exclusive to news apps. The timing for the launch of Apple’s planned web-based TV service may depend on if and when the company can secure the rights to include content from local TV stations, Re/code reports. While Apple has been believed to be working on service that bundles access to a handful of channels delivered over the Internet, the new report claims that Apple wants to include live local programming from TV stations to both broaden the appeal of the service — especially with cord cutters — and satisfy industry executives…...

Stats on smartphone usage suggest that Apple’s move to larger iPhone screens isn’t just to meet consumer demand – it’s also part of the company’s play to grow its Services revenue.
