Apple has posted its latest iPhone 5s, called “Dreams,” to its YouTube channel. Along with updates to iWork and iLife today, Apple has overhauled their Podcasts, Find my iPhone, and iTunes Trailers apps to fall in line with the design paradigms of iOS 7. A new report today from Bloomberg looks at the tricky situation Apple may be in as it looks into sourcing 5G modems for its 2020 iPhone lineup. While using Intel may be the company’s first choice, there could be a major downside in using those chips. Meanwhile, Apple’s other 5G modem supplier options are also less than ideal. While Android smartphone manufacturers are launching 5G capable smartphones this year, carriers won’t be launching widespread coverage of the new cellular standard until late this year and into 2020....

The decade-long legal battle between Apple and VirnetX may be coming to an end. Today the US Supreme Court rejected an appeal from Apple to hear the case in which it may end up owing VirnetX $400+ million. In the past few hours we’ve seen some significant changes happening at the App Store on iPad which seem to coincide nicely with the launch event tomorrow. Additionally, Joaquin Ruiz the CEO of Catalog Spree, a catalog app for the iPad, noticed that today Apple added the Catalogs category to the App Store for the iPad – and added his app to the category (right). ‘Catalogs’ is listed under Lifestyle and is currently empty but with a Retina display on show for tomorrow, it would be surprising not to see a few more catalogs show up....
